Use the General tab to change preferences such as Station Name, Tray Icon behavior, connection notifications and beep on connect.
Change the following from the General tab:
u Station name: Modify the name by which your Host computer identifies itself to PC-Duo Gateways and/or PC-Duo Masters. The field beneath will display how the Host will appear in a PC-Duo Master and/or PC-Duo Web Console.
w Now evaluates to: Displays the Station Name of the Host as it will appear in the PC-Duo Master or Web Console
u Host Appearance: Configure the PC-Duo Host icon to appear (Icon) or not (Hidden) in your system tray (lower right corner of your monitor) by selecting either Icon (default) or Hidden for each of the following:
w When there is no connection: The PC-Duo Host icon appears (or is hidden) when there is no active remote connection.
w When a connection is active: The PC-Duo Host icon appears (or is hidden) when a remote connection is active.
u Beeping: Set auditory cues to indicate when a PC-Duo Master user requests to connect to your Host computer.
w Select Beep on connect/disconnect to hear a quick series of three tones rising in pitch whenever a remote connection succeeds. With this option, a series of tones falling in pitch will be made when the remote connection is terminated.
w Select Beep while connected every...seconds to hear a short tone, periodically throughout the duration of any remote connection. The interval between beeps can be set from 0 to 9999 seconds. To turn the feature off completely, set this to 0.
u Popup Notifications: Set visual cues that "popup" on Host screen to indicate when certain events occur (also called "toast" notifications).
w Select Enable connect/disconnect notifications (default = selected) to see popup notifications when a PC-Duo Master user connects or disconnects from the Host.
w Select Enable file transfer notifications (default = not selected) to see popup notifications when a PC-Duo Master initiates file transfer operations to/from the Host.
w Select Show Active Users at connection start (default = not selected) to have the Active Users dialog automatically pop up when a connection is established. The dialog can be closed during a connection, and it will not display automatically again until a new network connection begins (that is, all current users disconnect, and a completely new connection is started). If hidden (or lost behind some windows), the tray icon context menu Show Active Users can be used to show the dialog and bring it to the front.
u Watermark: Select whether a watermark appears on the Host console screen when screen capture is active using one or both of the below options.
w Select Show border around screen capture area to enable a fluorescent border that will appear along the perimeter of the Host's screen during active connections.
w Select Show connected user(s) to enable a translucent list of connected users in the upper right hand corner of the Host's screen during active connections.
Note that in general most users will probably prefer that either Show Active Users at connection start or Enable connect/disconnect notifications is on, but both can be enabled.
